Cleaning the Streets in Louisville

Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky for the vast majority of my young life was a wonderful experience. Every school and every neighborhood that I lived in were places where I felt incredibly safe. As kids, my friends and I would explore miles worth of woods and neighborhoods all around us without concern of being snatched and taken away. As a young adult, I felt I could wander home late at night from the bar or go visit parks despite the odd, late hours without being hassled. And still, I’ve been forced to look for adt security companies lately because of the increase in crime within our area which doesn’t seem to have an end in sight. Murders have been happening with an increasing frequency which has lead to Louisville being named one of the most dangerous cities in the country but I guess we can say that we’re not Chicago at least, right?

It’s a shame that it has come to this. I never thought I would see the day where Louisville would find itself in the grip of a crime madness. Being robbed is one thing. Being killed or raped? That’s a different sort of fear. I was never afraid of someone breaking into my home and stealing some things; stuff can be replaced. It’s just stuff! Our lives cannot be replaced. I never wanted to install a security system in my home because I feel that deep down it is not really going to help me feel more secure. It will keep me safe, that’s for sure, but I’m not going to feel safe until we can get rid of all the crime that Louisville has and do more to clean up the streets that were once safe for our kids to play in without fear of danger.
